Not every classic dance record was built around a huge piano riff or a hands-in-the-air breakdown.
Liquid Aliens explores the deeper and more futuristic side of the early 90s underground, bringing together records that looked beyond the traditional boundaries of house and rave. Atmospheric textures, rolling rhythms and otherworldly sounds combine to create a mix that feels as fresh today as it did more than three decades ago.
Featuring tracks from artists who were constantly pushing dance music into new territory, this mix captures a period when experimentation was everywhere. House, techno, breakbeats and ambient influences collided, laying the foundations for jungle and jungle techno while creating the kind of futuristic sound championed by DJs such as Ratty.
The result is a journey through the stranger corners of the rave era, where deep techno grooves meet early jungle influences and sci-fi atmospheres. Less about instant anthems and more about mood, atmosphere and discovery.
30 minutes of deep, futuristic sounds from a time when dance music had no limits.
Enjoy.
